What is California AB1200?

California Assembly Bill 1200 (AB1200) is a law designed to increase transparency around certain chemicals used in cookware and food-contact products. The law requires manufacturers to disclose when specific chemicals identified by California regulatory agencies are intentionally added to cookware handles or food-contact surfaces.  

The purpose of AB1200 is to provide consumers with information that can help them make informed purchasing decisions. The presence of a disclosed chemical does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe or presents a health risk. The law is focused on disclosure and transparency.
