I replaced 43-year-old Pyrex mixing
"I replaced 43-year-old Pyrex mixing bowl set (rust colored with the wheat pattern - only one tiny chip in the color coat of one of them. Can you believe it? 43 years. . . but the inside white was starting to look scratched from 43 years of stirring my cream of wheat in the smallest bowl. ) I'm glad to have new ones, but something just seems "off" with these. The color isn't as vibrant as in the pictures, and when stacked, the colors aren't appealing, fresh, or fun, perhaps b/c they're translucent and the colors don't mix nicely. The "yellow" isn't yellow. It's more of a muted brown which may the issue. I'd prefer same-colored sets because of this. I don't have a dishwasher. These bowls must be towel-dried or the water spots are horrendous, and the ribs make it more tedious than usual to dry them (have to dry in the direction of the ribs. ) Those same problematic ribs on the outside are also nice because they allow better grip, and that's especially appreciated for the largest (blue) bowl b/c, goodness, that bowl is large! I like the various sizes and love that they nest. I bought a smaller bowl that fits nicely inside and seems like it would be part of the set. It takes on an aquamarine color on the rim where it's thicker but is otherwise pretty clear. I use it and the green one the most but am glad to have the yellow/brown and blue. Yeah, looking at them nested right now, it's that yellow/brown one that messes up the visual harmony of the set."
